The annual rent for the neighbourhoods Dein, Gato, Kanga, Monteverde, Wishi or Souax are due no later than December 31st of each year for the preceding year. Failure of any lessee to perform its obligations will result in the lessee being in default. After all, the payment term has then expired without the rent having been paid. The landowner is entitled to compensation when there is delay in the rent payment. For a calculation of your rent arrears, please contact our office. When making a direct bank transfer, remember to mention your registration number. Contact our office for bank details. Additional fees may be charged by your bank.
Our point-of-sale terminal accepts local and foreign debit cards. Credit cards will not be accepted for payment. Debit card payments are preferred over cash payments.
Cash payments at the office will be accepted up to a certain amount. We will refuse large cash amounts or foreign cash. Payment by debit card or through direct bank transfer is preferred.
You can pay by debit card, direct bank transfer as well as by my making cash payments. Be aware that we will refuse large cash amounts or foreign cash at our office. When you opt to pay by direct bank transfer you may request a receipt be mailed to your e-mail address. We do not accept credit cards or cheques.
Pursuant to Article 6:119 of the Civil Code the compensation owed for delay in the payment of a sum of money consists of the statutory interest on that sum over the time that the lessee has been in default. Each time after the end of a year, the amount on which the statutory interest is calculated is increased by the interest owed for that year. The statutory interest is determined by the Central Bank of Curacao & Sint Maarten. In addition, extrajudicial collection costs (between 15% and 20% with a minimum of NAf 7.50) will be charged on the total arrears
If for any reason you object to the calcucation of the rent arrears you may object using form 2886. If filled correctly, we will review your objections and, if appropriate, recalculate your overdue rent.
